About

Welcome to Handbound by Stephanie, where traditional hand-binding meets modern stationery design.

Our handmade paper products feature bold colors, natural textures, and are crafted from locally-sourced, eco-conscious, and plastic-free materials to inspire your creativity.

Founded in 2016, our products have been featured in the press, exhibited at the One of a Kind Show in Toronto, and sold in pop-up and retail shops throughout Eastern Canada, as well as in stationery and gift shops and museum bookstores across Canada.

All of our products are handcrafted in Montreal, Canada, and are made with love and care. We believe that writing by hand is a form of meditation and that the process of creating something beautiful by hand is as important as the final product.

Our founder Stephanie is passionate about all things paper, pens, and stationery. She made her first handbound book in 2007 and has delved into the rich world of book and paper arts. Stephanie has honed her bookbinding skills with Susan Mills in New York City, learned how to create handmade paper while interning at Paperhouse Studio in Toronto, and worked for award-winning indie paper mill, Papeterie St-Armand, in Montreal.

Stephanie has also worked in independent stationery and art shops, toured Book Arts Centres and paper mills across North America, Europe, and Tanzania. She earned a BFA, exhibited her handbound books in Montreal and Toronto, interviewed Canadian artists in-studio, and published art and written work in academic journals, online publications, and in the press.

Whether you're an artist, writer, or connaisseur we invite you to explore our collection of handmade journals, sketchbooks, and other paper products. .
